You can delete your KidOS account, and everything tied to it, at any time. This isn't just a formality —
once we process your request, your family's account is gone from our active systems. This page explains
exactly how to request it, what we delete, and the few narrow exceptions where something is kept a little
longer, and why.
How to Request Deletion
-
Email support.kidos@gmail.com
from the same address you used to create your parent account, with the subject line "Delete my account."
(No access to that inbox anymore? Email us anyway and explain — we'll ask a couple of quick questions to
confirm it's really you before proceeding.)
-
We reply to confirm we've received your request and verify your identity. Because this may involve a
child's data, we always do this before making any changes — usually within 1–2 business days.
-
We permanently delete your account and the data listed below, and email you a confirmation once it's
done. This is typically completed within 30 days of verifying your identity.
At our current stage, this is a manual process handled directly by our small team, rather than a self-serve
button inside the app — we're a solo-developer effort building carefully, and this is what that looks like
today. It gets you the same outcome: your data fully deleted, with a real person confirming it happened.
What Gets Deleted
When your account is deleted, we permanently remove:
- Your parent account: name, email, and PIN
- Your child's profile: first name, age, and (if you added them) gender and general location
- All activity history: daily activities completed, points earned and spent, reward requests, and Weekly Insights
- Your family's entire account record from our active systems
What We Keep, and For How Long
A few narrow exceptions, kept only as long as there's a real reason to:
- Backups. For disaster-recovery purposes, your data may remain in encrypted backups for up to 30 days after deletion, then it's permanently purged along with the rest of that backup cycle.
- Billing records. If you ever subscribed to a paid plan, that transaction was handled directly by the Google Play Store — we never saw or stored your payment details, and any billing records live with Google, under Google's own policies, not ours.
- Support correspondence. The emails you send us to request deletion are kept for up to 12 months for our own support records, separate from your account data, then deleted.
- Anonymized usage statistics. Aggregate information that can no longer be tied to your child or family (for example, "most families complete a daily activity by 8pm") may be kept indefinitely to help us understand how KidOS is used overall.
We don't keep anything else. In particular, we don't retain a shadow copy of your child's profile, activity
history, or Wallet balance once your account is deleted.
